Dr. Chotiner,
After twenty years of wearing glasses and contacts, I decided it was time to consider laser vision correction. I researched some websites and decided to make an appointment with a well-known Lasik provider in the Harrisburg area. My husband went with me to the initial consultation and evaluation. Even though the cost was quite affordable, we were not comfortable with the atmosphere so we decided to look elsewhere.

Our next stop was the Memorial Eye Institute. After a consultation and evaluation by the Memorial Eye team, we immediately knew that we had come to the right place. Dr. Bennett Chotiner met with us to explain how the surgery would correct my vision. He told me that I had a significant amount of astigmatism which would make it more challenging to achieve perfect results. The wonderful thing is that the day after the surgery, at my initial follow-up appointment, my vision was 20/15, better than perfect! Even after three months, my vision is still crystal-clear. Dr. Chotiner did an incredible job.

I must admit that I initially had a great deal of anxiety over the idea of having eye surgery. But after speaking with Deanna, Refractive Surgery Coordinator for Memorial Eye, I felt much more confident about the whole thing. She went into great detail on what to expect the day of the surgery, and she was right there for us every step of the way.

My husband and I spend a lot of time outdoors, we love to hunt. It is so great to look around the woods and now be able to see all the detail. Thanks to Memorial Eye Institute, my vision is amazingly clear. If you are considering laser vision correction, Memorial Eye Institute is the place.

I have had difficulty with my distance vision since about the age of six and have
worn glasses/contact lenses for most of my life. I had been contemplating Lasik surgery
for many years, but was always too apprehensive to pursue it further.Finally, I decided to proceed with Lasik surgery at the age of 44. I contacted Memorial Eye Institute for more information. I choose MEI because of Dr. Bennett Chotiner’s reputation and experience with Lasik eye surgery.
My experience with MEI was wonderful. From that first phone call to my most recent
follow-up appointment, my encounters were with a very professional and caring staff.
All my questions were answered, and everything was thoroughly explained to me.
My surgery came and went without any complications. I now have 20/15 distance
vision in both eyes. I am thankful to MEI every morning when I wake up and have a
clear vision of the world around me.
I know there are many different places to have Lasik eye surgery done, some less
expensive or offering discounts. I was not willing to take any sacrifice on quality with
my eyes by “looking for a bargain”. My only regret is that I should have had the surgery
years earlier. I would recommend to anyone thinking about Lasik eye surgery to call
MEI today.

I would like to thank you and your staff for giving me the gift of sight. I had been wearing glasses or contacts for more than 25 years and now feel like a new person. Since June of 1999 when you performed Lasik surgery on both of my eyes, I feel as if a new world has been opened to me! I wake up in the middle of the night and can actually see shadows on the ceiling - something I have never been able to do. My vision is now 20/15 and better than perfect. Within 6 hours of having the surgery I was able to do normal activities without the assistance of corrective lenses. Life is beautiful thanks to my new outlook. I thank God every day for this precious gift of sight!
